Sen Piyer Apartment Galata Restoration Project
The decaying balconies of the historic Sen Piyer Apartment have been restored, staying true to the original structure. The completed restoration steps are as follows:
- The old balcony structures were completely demolished, and the debris was cleared.
- A solid skeleton was constructed using metal I-beams.
- The balconies were paved using volta bricks, in accordance with the original design, and joint applications were made.
- Finally, waterproofing was applied to the balcony floor, and the surface was covered with basalt stones.
- This restoration work has resulted in a durable structure that meets modern usage needs while preserving the historic texture.
